Apple Japan to Continue Selling First-Generation iMac PC
|
February 10, 1999 (TOKYO) -- Apple Japan Inc. expects to continue selling
the first-generation iMac PC in a blue-tone color for an unspecified
period, said Naohisa Fukuda, director of the company's business operations.
|
Fukuda made the comment in a recent interview with Nikkei MAC.
When the new iMac in five different colors was launched, production of
the first-generation iMac was expected to be discontinued, according
to industry observers.
"Because we are still experiencing demand for the first-generation iMac,
sales of those iMac PCs will continue, although not on a grand scale,"
Fukuda said.
Some PC shops may soon opt to discontinue selling the first-generation
iMac, according to Apple Japan.
