User of Windows NT Service Pack Experiences Problems

February 17, 1999 (TOKYO) -- A client company of Microsoft Windows NT4.0
that installed the Service Pack patch program experienced problems in
arithmetic calculations in an application.

The client company is building its intranet using Microsoft Active Server
Pages. The company said that the problem occurred just after it installed
Service Pack1 for Data Access Components 2.0, which is for resolving
the year 2000 problem in database access applications.
The company said it experienced cases in which numeric zeros in the lower
digit positions as in 3,000 were dropped and 3,000 was treated like
3. The reasons are not known.
Because of this error, the registration numbering system for deals was
in disorder and accurate registered information could not be retrieved,
according to the company.
