  • User of Windows NT Service Pack Experiences Problems
  • February 17, 1999 (TOKYO) -- A client company of Microsoft Windows NT4.0 that installed the Service Pack patch program experienced problems in arithmetic calculations in an application.
The client company is building its intranet using Microsoft Active Server Pages. The company said that the problem occurred just after it installed Service Pack1 for Data Access Components 2.0, which is for resolving the year 2000 problem in database access applications.

The company said it experienced cases in which numeric zeros in the lower digit positions as in 3,000 were dropped and 3,000 was treated like 3. The reasons are not known.

Because of this error, the registration numbering system for deals was in disorder and accurate registered information could not be retrieved, according to the company.
