  • UUNET to Provide Internet Access in Japan
  • March 4, 1999 (TOKYO) -- UUNET Technologies Inc., a U.S. Internet service provider owned by MCI WorldCom Inc., said it will set up a wholly-owned company, UUNET Japan Co., Ltd., in early March.
    UUNET is following its parent company in starting an ISP business in Japan.

    UUNET Japan plans to kick off its service as a Type II telecommunications service provider using lines of MCI WorldCom Japan. It is eying foreign affiliates in Japan as its main customers.
