Mitsubishi Sells VirusScan Anti-Virus Software on Internet

March 8, 1999 (TOKYO) -- Mitsubishi Corp. began selling the Japanese
version of an anti-virus software program, McAfee VirusScan4.0J for
Win, on the Internet on March 1.

The software is from Network Associates Inc. of the United States.
Mitsubishi concluded an agency agreement with Network Associates Japan
Inc. on online distribution of the U.S. company's software programs
related to anti-virus and network security.
Network Associates of Japan, formerly known as McAfee, is a subsidiary
of Network Associates of the United States. The McAfee VirusScan4.0J
for Win is one of the products to be distributed on the Internet under
the agreement.
Mitsubishi sells the McAfee VirusScan4.0J for Win in a download for users
from Mitsubishi's special site for online marketing (http://www.b-store.com/jp).
This special site was established by Mitsubishi and its wholly-owned
subsidiary, One GalaxySolution of the United States, an electric commerce
service company. Software programs scheduled to be released by the U.S.
Network Associates will also be sold through this site.
The operating system for the McAfee VirusScan4.0J for Win is either Windows
95 or Windows 98. The program requires more than 8MB memory and more
than 5MB hard disk space. It is priced at 2,980 yen (121.34 yen=US$1)
until March 31, and 4,200 yen after April 1.
