Otsuka Shokai to Start 24-Hour Remote Virus Service
|
March 15, 1999 (TOKYO) -- Otsuka Shokai Co., Ltd. announced that in May
it will begin to offer 24-hour, 365-day service for remote computer
virus probing for enterprises.
|
Otsuka Shokai's monitoring center will remotely probe virus intrusions
and infections that might happen in enterprises where Trend Micro Inc.
of Japan's "Trend Virus Control System" anti-virus software is installed
in their PCs. The latest versions of anti-virus software and virus pattern
files are distributed to the enterprises.
When virus infection is found, this service will immediately report it
to the system administrator of the company and submit a report that
describes the route of infection and remedial measures. The service
will also include as standard a guarantee for data recovery.
If the hard disk of the server is destroyed by a virus, Otsuka Shokai
will provide a data recovery service free of charge. This guarantee
service is offered in cooperation with Yasuda Fire & Marine Insurance
Co., Ltd.
The service will commence on May 1, 1999. The fee starts from the initial
800,000 yen (120.61 yen=US$1), with a monthly charge of 100,000
yen.
