| LG Precision Develops Memory Chip Test Device

January 20, 1999 (SEOUL) -- LG Precision Co., Ltd. said it developed
a new integrated circuit socket, a device for measuring memory chips'
electrical performance.

The company said the new device, the smallest of its kind in Korea, will
be used to test the working performance of direct Rambus-DRAM chips
under intense heat.
The company recorded 20 billion won (US$16.7 million) in import substitution
effect by localizing IC sockets for 16Mb and 64Mb DRAM chips in 1997.
