  • March 11, 1999 (BEIJING) -- The Beijing Book Mansion, a major Asian retail bookstore, recently introduced Compaq Computer Corp.'s online purchasing service.
Eckhard Pfeiffer, Compaq president and CEO, said Compaq recognizes the vast potential of China's Internet market, and will participate in a series of projects, including online book sales and a municipal government Internet service.
