  • December 4, 1998 (SEOUL) -- Procurement of computer software by the Korean government and other public institutions is expected to increase 155 percent in 1999 on a year-on-year basis.
A report entitled "Survey on software purchases for 1999," released by the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Korea Software Industries Association, said a total of 412 public institutions are expected to spend up to 954.8 billion won on software products.

Also, the ministry said it will hold a seminar called "Predictions on Software Purchases in 1999" at the COEX center, to provide software firms with information that will be helpful for their marketing efforts.

For more information on the predictions, the ministry has set up a Web site at www.sw.or.kr.
