Hyundai's Information Unit to Team Up with Microsoft

December 17, 1998 (SEOUL) -- Hyundai Information Technology Co., Ltd.
will forge a strategic alliance with Microsoft Corp. to jointly develop
corporate software, including Knowledge Management System and groupware.

The agreement, which took place at the Intercontinental Hotel here, was
signed by Kim Tack-ho, president of Hyundai Information, and Korea Microsoft
head Kim Jae-min.
The two sides already signed a memorandum of understanding, and Kim is
scheduled to visit billionaire Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates some time
in January 1999.
Under the bilateral tie, the two companies will invest US$3.4 million
in six projects including e-commerce, groupware and KMS, while jointly
creating various software applications based on Windows NT.
"The strategic alliance will aid us to advance into the Asian market,"
said Kim, saying Hyundai Information will get some 500 computer engineers
and solution developers from Microsoft for the project.
