Major PC Makers Unveil 266MHz Notebook PCs

January 15, 1998 (SEOUL) -- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Daewoo Telecom Co., Ltd. and Trigem Computer
Corp. unveiled new notebook PCs equipped with Intel Corp.'s MMX 266MHz Pentium microprocessor.

Samsung Electronics unveiled its Sense 650, which has a 13.1-in. screen, weighs 2.7kg and is 37mm
thick. It features an SG RAM, an exclusive video memory, to reduce bottle necks that occur when
processing large data files.
Daewoo Telecom released the Solo Slim notebook, which is 37mm thick, and at 2.5kg, slightly lighter
than Samsung's offering. Daewoo's new notebook can also be linked to a TV screen for viewing movies or
for video presentations.
The C57C notebook PC unveiled by Trigem Computer is 48mm thick and features a 20x CD-ROM with a
detachable 3.2-in. hard disk drive.
The three Korean computer makers will put their models on the market in February.
