Beijing Introduces Price Information on Internet
|
June 2, 1998 (BEIJING) -- Beijing's Municipal Bureau for Price Management has
introduced local price information on the Internet, with an aim to provide
data for government policy makers and to better serve society.
|
Most of the information placed on the Internet is free of charge.
Related information includes wholesale and retail prices of farm and other
products, some 10,000 types of Western medicines and 6,000 traditional Chinese
medicines, and prices of products handled through manufacturers and
distributors.
Prices of more than 10,000 types of building materials, charges of Beijing's
administrative units, and pricing laws and regulations also are listed on the
Internet.
Li Jiali, director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau for Price Management, said
that the bureau aims to improve the existing information network and data
bank, by adding more information on hotels, education and other sectors.
