| Hyundai Develops Chip for Satellite Broadcasting

September 11, 1998 (SEOUL) -- Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd.
developed an advanced chip that receives international satellite broadcasting
signals through both the European DVB and U.S. DSS methods.

The company said its new chip is an upgraded version of its first-generation
satellite chip, which was developed in July 1997.
Hyundai Electronics expects the chip sales to reach US$5 million by year-end.
It aims to secure up to 15 percent of the global satellite chip market,
with a goal of US$20 million in sales by 1999.
