| Samsung Electronics to Export CDMA-WLL System to China

May 1, 1998 (SEOUL) -- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. was selected
as the exclusive provider of CDMA-based wireless local loop (WLL)
systems to Chongqing city, central China.

Samsung Electronics beat out 20 other telecommunications
equipment makers from around the world in open bidding, including
Motorola Inc. and Qualcomm Inc.
Under the contract, Samsung Electronics will install its WLL
systems in the city during the first half of 1998.
The WLL market in China is expected to grow to 2 million circuits
in the year 2000, according to the company.
