Netscape Japan's President Sugiyama Resigns Suddenly

September 25, 1998 (TOKYO) -- Itsuo Sugiyama, president of Netscape Communications
Japan Ltd., resigned suddenly on Sept. 21, BizTech News learned.

Masahiro Morimoto, vice president of the U.S. parent company in charge
of Japan and the Asia/Pacific regions, will serve as president concurrently.
Morimoto and Tetsuyuki Kawatani, who assumed the position of representative
director and vice president of Netscape Japan, will share the president's
work, according to company sources.
Netscape Japan has not yet announced the reason for Sugiyama's resignation.
Sugiyama became president of Netscape Japan in November 1997 after working
at Hewlett-Packard Japan Ltd. for 24 years. His resignation comes less
than one year after he took the job as president.
