Samsung Display's Plant in Tianjin Begins Operating
|
November 3, 1998 (SEOUL) -- Samsung Display Devices. the world's largest
maker of Braun tubes, said Oct. 27 it started operations at its plant
in Tianjin, China.

"This is our third plant built in China, following two in Guangdong province,"
a Samsung official said.
Constructed at a cost of US$400 million, the Tianjin plant features two
production lines with a total annual production capacity of 3 million
color Braun tubes, the official added.
With its plants operating in Malaysia, Germany, Mexico and China, Samsung
said it will raise its overseas production capacity to 24.2 million
units from the current 23 million, or about 53 percent of its total
production capacity.
