  • Microsoft to Invest in 10 Korea Software Firms
  • January 27, 1999 (SEOUL) -- Microsoft Corp. said it will provide financial and technological support to 10 software companies in Korea.
"Microsoft will initially inject one billion won into 10 Korean software firms, and increase the investment amount on a gradual basis," said Jeff Raikes, Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft's group vice president of sales and support.

"The criteria for selecting the companies will focus mainly on their technology capabilities and company size in terms of assets," he added. "We will provide information on our technologies in addition to developing joint-marketing strategies to link our customers with the 10 firms."

To date, Microsoft has selected four companies, including ERP developer, Younglimwon and Korea Information System Co.
