LG Chemicals Designs Color Filter Photoresist for LCDs
|
March 8, 1999 (SEOUL) -- LG Chemicals Co. announced March 4 that it developed
a color filter photoresist, a key component for liquid crystal displays
(LCDs).
|
Previously, only Japanese companies possessed the technology to produce
such photoresists, which coordinate colors in LCD panels.
"Because of its large import substitution effect, we expect the development
will help Korea's LCD manufacturers cut costs, which in turn will raise
their competitiveness in the global market," an LG Chemicals official
said.
The company official also referred to the high quality of the new photoresist
product in terms of transparency and brightness.
