![]() Samsung Japan Unveils Ultra-slim Pentium II Notebook October 3, 1998 (TOKYO) -- Samsung Japan Corp. displayed the prototype of a slim-line Pentium II notebook PC at this week's World PC Expo 98. The company plans to commercialize the product sometime around the end of November to December. The SENS Pro 750 Ultra Slim will cost around 270,000 yen. The product is 297mm by 225mm by 28mm, approximately the same size as Toshiba's DynaBookSS 6000 series. It is the slimmest among PCs with a Pentium II processor, and weighs 1.9kg. Samsung will offer the notebook PC in three models: the 233MHz, the 266MHz, and the 300MHz. Memory capacity will be 96MB, though the standard memory size has to be determined. The unit comes with a detachable hard drive from IBM Japan, Ltd, and external floppy and CD-ROM drives. The 12.1-in. color TFT-LCD display has a maximum resolution of 800 by 600dpi.
