![]() NTT to Release Portable 100V Power Supply October 5, 1998 (TOKYO) -- Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. displayed Power Mobile, a prototype of an attach?-case-sized portable power supply device, at last week's World PC Expo. When charged in advance, the device can provide output of 100 volts AC. The device has two output plugs of 100V. When fully charged Power Mobile has the capacity to operate a 20W notebook PC for about 10 hours. NTT expects to launch the device at a price of approximately 80,000 yen in December. The Power Mobile measures 361mm by 247mm by 83mm, and weighs around 5kg. It can be charged in about eight hours by plugging in to a 100~240V AC power source. The device can also be charged by plugging it into automobile cigarette lighter. NTT is preparing a charge connector for cellular phones. (BizTech News Dept.) |
